Conference Review

The 2023 5th International Conference on Robotics, Intelligent Control and Artificial Intelligence (RICAI 2023)  took place successfully in Hangzhou, China, during December 1-3, 2023. Jointly sponsored by the Zhejiang Association of Automation and Zhejiang University of Technology, the conference was organized by the College of Information Engineering of Zhejiang University of Technology and Guangdong AiScholar Institute of Academic Exchange. Co-organizers included Zhejiang University, Jiangsu University, Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, and other institutions. The conference also garnered support from the Robotics Society of Singapore and the University of Guelph Robotics and Intelligent Systems Laboratory in Canada, and it was listed by IEEE. The event pooled over a hundred domestic and international universities, with a cumulative attendance of exceeding three hundred experts and scholars.

12月1日至3日,第五届机器人、智能控制与人工智能国际学术会议(RICAI 2023)在杭州成功召开,大会由浙江省自动化学会、浙江工业大学联合主办,浙江工业大学信息工程学院、广东省艾思信息化学术交流研究院等单位承办,浙江大学、江苏大学、郑州轻工业大学等单位协办,并得到新加坡机器人学会、加拿大圭尔夫机器人和智能系统实验室支持,是IEEE列表会议。大会现场聚集了国内外百余个高校单位、三百余名专家学者。


The conference boasted a distinguished roster of attendees, including luminaries such as Prof. Weihua Gui, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor at Central South University; Prof. Lei Guo, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor at Beihang University; Prof. Yang Shi, an academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a professor at the University of Victoria; Prof. Huajun Zheng, a member of the Party Committee and the vice president of Zhejiang University of Technology; Prof. Junfei Qiao, the vice president of Beijing University of Technology; Prof. Hongye Su, the chairman of the Zhejiang Association of Automation and a professor at Zhejiang University; Professor Zhigang Zeng from Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Prof. Xianyi Yang from the University of Guelph in Canada; Prof. Li Yu from Zhejiang University of Technology; Researcher Long Cheng from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Prof. Yang Tang from East China University of Science and Technology; Prof. Yan Wang from Jiangnan University; Prof. Jing Na from Kunming University of Science and Technology; Prof. Guanglin Dai, the Party Secretary of the College of Information Engineering of Zhejiang University of Technology; and Prof. Wen’an Zhang, the Dean, among others. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Defeng He, the Vice Dean of the Graduate School at Zhejiang University of Technology.

Prof. Gui Weihua, Prof. Zheng Huajun, and Prof. Su Hongye delivered opening speeches at the conference.

Academician Weihua Gui offered warm congratulations on the convening of the conference, highlighting the role of artificial intelligence in driving a new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation. He underscored the significance of hosting the 5th RICAI 2023 as a crucial platform for fostering collaboration among domestic and international experts and scholars. This initiative aims to facilitate the sharing of research achievements and cutting-edge technologies, thereby catalyzing the industrialization of academic outcomes.

桂卫华院士向会议的召开表示热烈祝贺。桂院士表示,由人工智能引领的新一轮科技革命和产业变革为经济社会发展注入了新动能,举办第五届机器人、智能控制与人工智能国际学术会议,是推动国内外专家学者共享科研成果、前沿技术,促进学术成果产业化合作的重要举措。


Vice President Huajun Zheng, representing Zhejiang University of Technology, provided an overview of the university’s development to the esteemed guests and scholars in attendance. He emphasized the conference’s importance as a testament to the university’s dedication to pioneering scientific research. Proposing a focus on addressing developmental needs in robotics, intelligent control, and artificial intelligence, Vice President Zheng advocated for discussions on the latest research hotspots, core technologies, development trends, and industry challenges.

郑华均副校长代表浙江工业大学,为与会的嘉宾学者介绍了浙江工业大学的发展情况。郑副校长强调,本届大会是浙江工业大学“顶天立地”科研的重要体现。他提出,会议要面向机器人、智能控制与人工智能领域发展需求,围绕最新的研究热点、核心技术与发展态势,以及行业热点进行探讨。


Chairman Hongye Su, speaking on behalf of the Zhejiang Association of Automation, traced the association’s developmental trajectory and underscored its mission to mobilize scientists and technologists in the automation field. Chairman Su expressed the hope that the conference would enhance academic exchanges and stimulate the exchange of ideas, thereby fostering a conducive academic atmosphere and promoting the integration of academic exchanges with industry innovation.

苏宏业理事长代表浙江省自动化学会,为大家介绍了学会的建设历史,强调学会要坚持团结和动员自动化领域科学技术工作者的使命。苏理事长希望通过此次会议,能够加强领域内学术交流和思想碰撞,营造良好学术氛围,促进学术交流与产创融合。

The conference featured plenary sessions, keynote speeches, symposiums, and oral presentations. Six distinguished experts, notably including Prof. Lei Guo from Beihang University, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of IEEE/IET; Prof. Yang Shi from the University of Victoria, a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of EIC/IEEE/ASME/CSME; Prof. Junfei Qiao, vice president of Beijing University of Technology, a National Distinguished Young Scholar, and Chang Jiang Scholar; Prof. Zhigang Zeng from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, a National Distinguished Young Scholar, Chang Jiang Scholar, and a Fellow of IEEE/IET; Prof. Xianyi Yang, a distinguished professor at the University of Guelph in Canada; and Professor Hongye Su from Zhejiang University, a National Distinguished Young Scholar and Chang Jiang Scholar, delivered plenary speeches. Topics covered in these speeches included Composite Disturbance Filtering: Theory and Application Practice, Intelligent Optimal Control for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Process, Collaborative Control of Multi-Agent Systems in Non-Ideal Environments, Fault-Tolerant Quadrotor Control: A Dual-Rate Hierarchical MPC Framework, Biologically Inspired Multi-Robot Systems for Evacuation and Rescue, and Intelligent Dynamic Wireless Charging for Electric Vehicles.

会议设置大会报告、主旨报告、研讨会和口头报告。中国科学院院士、IEEE/IET Fellow、北京航空航天大学郭雷教授,加拿大工程院院士、EIC/IEEE/ASME/CSME Fellow、维多利亚大学施阳教授,国家杰青、长江学者、北京工业大学副校长乔俊飞教授,国家杰青、长江学者、IEEE/IET Fellow、华中科技大学曾志刚教授,加拿大圭尔夫大学终身教授杨先一教授,国家杰青、长江学者、浙江大学苏宏业教授等6位专家做大会报告,内容涉及复合干扰滤波理论研究与应用实践、城市污水处理过程智能优化控制、非理想环境下多智能体协同控制、无人机故障的双速率分层预测控制、面向逃生和救援的多机器人系统的生物学启发、电动汽车智能动态无线充电等主题。

Invited speeches were delivered by four esteemed scholars: Professor Long Cheng from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, a National Distinguished Young Scholar and IEEE/IET Fellow; Professor Jing Na from Kunming University of Science and Technology (presenting online), distinguished as a Chang Jiang Scholar and National Excellent Youth; Professor Yang Tang from East China University of Science and Technology, renowned as a National Leading Talent in Science and Technology Innovation and an IEEE Fellow; and Professor Yan Wang from Jiangnan University, recognized as a Chang Jiang Scholar and Jiangsu Province Distinguished Young Scholar. Their presentations covered a range of topics, encompassing Hand Exoskeletons for Rehabilitation: Design Perception and Human-Machine Interaction, High-Precision Motion Control of Nonlinear Robots with Unknown Dynamics, Perception and Decision-making in Intelligent Unmanned Systems Based on Deep Learning, and Optimization Scheduling of Feedback Structure Production Processes Utilizing Virtual Workflows. 

国家杰青、IEEE/IET Fellow、中国科学院自动化研究所程龙教授,长江学者、国家优青、昆明理工大学那靖教授(线上),国家科技创新领军人才、IEEE Fellow、华东理工大学唐漾教授,长江学者、江苏省杰青、江南大学王艳教授等4位专家分别就康复用手外骨骼设计、感知和人机交互、具有未知动力学的非线性机器人的高精度运动控制、基于深度学习的智能无人系统感知与博弈决策、基于虚拟工作流的反馈结构生产流程优化调度做主旨报告。


Symposium on Theory and Application oflntelligent Control of Electromechanical Svstems

A total of 42 experts and scholars contributed to academic presentations and discussions centered around the conference theme. Notably, the symposium convened esteemed experts, including Prof. Shuyou Yu from Jilin University, Prof. Shihong Ding from Jiangsu University, Prof. Yongfu Li from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Prof. Yu Wang from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Chao Deng from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Associate Professor Junxiao Wang from Zhejiang University of Technology. They deliberated on the theme “Theory and Application of Intelligent Control of Electromechanical Systems.” Each session witnessed participants engaging in profound academic exchanges, fostering lively discussions and an active atmosphere.

共42位专家学者围绕会议主题开展学术报告和讨论交流。其中,研讨会邀请到吉林大学于树友教授、江苏大学丁世宏教授、重庆邮电大学李永福教授、中国科学院自动化研究所王宇教授、南京邮电大学邓超教授、浙江工业大学王军晓副教授等专家,围绕主题“机电系统智能控制理论与应用”展开研讨。在各分会场,与会人员深入学术交流,与会者讨论热烈、气氛活跃。
